A Breakthrough for People with Chronic Pain

MotiMove is designed for people living with chronic pain—an audience often overlooked by existing fitness and exercise apps. While most apps target fit users with high physical capacity and athletic goals, MotiMove addresses a different reality: worldwide, one in four adults experiences chronic pain. For this group, accessible and targeted physical activity is essential.

The app offers personalized exercise programs based on principles of graded activity, behavior change, and medical evidence. Through motivational feedback, intelligent progression, and integration with physiotherapist guidance, the app enables users to reduce pain and improve independence—not by pushing them, but by activating them in a safe and empowering way.

Societal impact

During the pitch, Incentro’s marketing manager Mike Gabriel and digital strategist Joris Dijkstra convinced the jury of the app’s broader social value. They emphasized that healthcare innovation only creates real impact when it addresses the actual needs of people.

MotiMove demonstrates how digital tools can drive true behavioral change, especially for a group that is often underserved by current healthcare and exercise offerings.

The DIA jury praised the project’s societal impact -something we are just as proud of as the award itself. We hope this recognition contributes to greater awareness of the issue of chronic pain and helps build momentum for digital healthcare solutions that are truly inclusive and effective.
