Third year in a row!
For the third consecutive year, Incentro Africa received the award for being the second-best place to work in Kenya. What this means for your business and the collaboration with all our stakeholders is explained in this blog.
A testament of a “working” culture
What makes it, is that a company is a great place to work. That comes down to our “Working” culture. At Incentro, whilst there is of course a hierarchy, there are team members, managers, and upper management. The importance is that everyone, no matter their level stays approachable. Being able to think, discuss new ideas, and feel comfortable approaching management with problems faced, creates a culture of camaraderie and mutual respect. Feeling heard as an employee, and discussing working culture with everyone involved in the company, are all contributing factors to Incentro Africa receiving this award.
No wonder why 100% of Incentro Africa’s employees told Great Place to Work Kenya, that they see Incentro Africa as a great place to work. Citing that their work has meaning, management is approachable and easy to talk with, that people are treated fairly regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, and age, and that they are proud to work for Incentro Africa. This is in stark contrast with the situation that is the norm at most companies, according to Great Place to Work Kenya, the norm is that 57% of employees see their company as a great place to work. So we are not just ahead by a bit, but miles ahead, and we’ll gladly boast about it.
The third consecutive time
As we mentioned, this is the third consecutive time, which is especially impressive since we joined the Great Place to Work organization three years ago, confirming what we all thought “We are a great place to work”. Winning this prestigious award three times in a row motivates the Incentro Africa team to ensure a quality and safe environment for all, touching on one of our core values of camaraderie.
An organization like Great Place To Work Kenya, also helps us keep an eye on what it is that improves a work environment. It's a great ambition to be a great place to work, but you have to know how to create one as well. Making it imperative for organizations who are aspiring great places to work, to associate with such organizations. A realization that Incentro Africa did not miss. Knowing what is important for employees' happiness, well-being, and sense of fulfillment is the first step to becoming a great place to work - which seeing as it’s the third time Incentro Africa received this award, we got that down pretty well. - if you don’t have a good oversight of your employee's work-related wants and needs, you are bound to miss fundamental parts of this.
Great Place to Work Kenya’s methodology for deciding what places are great to work, is through surveying employees through anonymous surveys. This ensures that employees will be free to give their true opinions without fear that anyone will have insight into their personal opinions.
What does this all mean for your business?
For us it’s great that we are working at a great place, but what does that mean for you? Well first off, a positive work environment has been shown to improve productivity by 12%, a substantial increase ensuring that the teams are always giving their 100%. It is also said to foster innovation and creativity. This means our team will think not just in but also outside of the box to find the best solutions tailored to your business needs.
And that is not all, when you enter our office for a meeting or event or meet with one of our team members outside of our office, you will feel a positive and productive atmosphere, rightly creating a feeling of trust that you are conducting business with a moral and progressive company.
The list of benefits is endless. This means the opportunities for improvement are as well. Therefore it is our ambition to not just stick with the three awards we have received so far. We aim to receive these every single year and keep on improving the working environment within Incentro Africa. Because the process of becoming a great place to work, never stops.
