About RefillMyBottle

RefillMyBottle is an online map where travelers and locals on the go can easily find nearby locations where they can refill their water bottles for free or at a minimum fee. The community-based project's goal is to make refilling a new habit globally and to contribute to tackling plastic pollution at the source.

The RefillMyBottle map

The impactful initiative, dedicated to reducing single-use plastic bottle waste, faced a common dilemma. For a while, their trusty RefillMyBottle map was hiding out in a mobile app that was a bit tricky to find. This meant a clunky user experience, slow loading times (we're talking 10+ seconds just to see a refill station profile—ouch!), and no easy way for users or refill station owners to see the real environmental impact being made with every refill. It was frustrating for users and hard for refill stations to track their contributions.

At one point, our mobile app was no longer findable on Google Play or App Store. On top of that, the Refillers and RefillAmbassadors urge us to go back to a web map, saving their phone's storage, and for easier access.

Incentro Asia Pacific delivers a major hydration upgrade for RefillMyBottle!

But guess what? Those days are over! We and RefillMyBottle are thrilled to announce the triumphant return of the RefillMyBottle map, now on the web, completely redesigned and packed with features to make sustainable hydration easier.

Here's how Incentro helped build your new favorite way to find water:
  • Sophisticated Web Map View: Our expert developers engineered a beautiful, easy-to-use web map that eliminates the need for an elusive app. Now, users can instantly see water refill stations nearby directly from the browser on any device. Finding a refill station has never been this simple, showcasing our commitment to an intuitive app user experience.
  • Lightning-Fast Performance: We tackled those frustrating loading times head-on. Now, pulling up the map or checking out the details of refill stations is super speedy, reflecting our dedication to top-tier web performance and ensuring you can find water refill stations and get on with your day in a flash.
  • Track Your Impact with Refill Counts: This is a game-changer we're incredibly proud to have built! The new refill counter means you (and RefillMyBottle's refill station partners) can finally see the real impact of every single refill. Watch those numbers climb as you contribute to reducing plastic pollution! This robust refill count data also helps vendors see how well their station is performing, empowering them to make even better, data-driven decisions.

Why this matters for you (and the planet!)

The tourism industry plays a big part in plastic waste generation. Travelers produce 3x more plastic waste than locals do. If a traveler stays for five days at a destination, 20 single-use plastic bottles are discarded per person. In Bali alone, where tourism thrives, over 12 million tourists visited the island in 2024; this equals approximately 240 million plastic bottles per year. With the lack of waste management systems, these water bottles may end up in landfills, the ocean, or be burned, which emits toxic fumes. If this issue continues, Bali will be drowning in plastic waste, untreated and unattended. Bali’s beauty and biodiversity will be jeopardized. While the environment can live without us, we can’t live without it.

By refilling, a traveler can save 120 plastic bottles in a month.
