Modernize your IT

modernize your IT, why?

Digital transformation; a huge misconception is that Digital Transformation is all about digital technology – which is partly true – but it’s more about how technology allows organizations to solve their problems with modern solutions. It’s about the journey that existing companies need to take to keep up with digital native competitors.
That being said, innovating your infrastructure is the first required step in your Digital Transformation journey. To outsmart your competition you need to innovate your business – to not become obsolete.

Innovating your business requires innovating your applications. Almost every company is evolving into an IT company, which means that you need to do smarter business. Doing smarter business also means your applications need to become smarter, and to do so – you need to innovate your IT tools and services. Creating smarter applications can only be done if the building blocks are increasingly getting smarter and better. Therefore you will need to innovate your IT infrastructure in order to get access to these tools and services.

modernize your IT, how?

Lift & Shift to start with; Lift & Shift basically refers to the strategy for moving an application or operation from one environment to another – without redesigning the app. Within the Lift & Shift approach, we move certain workloads and tasks from on-premise setups to the Google Cloud Platform. This can also include moving data operations from one data center to another.

modernize your IT, what’s in it for you?

Keeping the exact same setup while gaining:

  • More scalability – in- and decrease your entire stack automatically in no time;
  • Less maintenance – a lot of cloud services are managed for you, no more mundane tasks for you;
  • Performance – cloud infrastructure is built with and on the latest technology, with the result of a continuously increasing performance;
  • Pay per use – only pay for the infrastructure you use, no more idle servers;
  • Decentralized IT – with cloud infrastructure, your users can easily set up their own environment;
  • Focus on what really matters – your IT employees can start focussing on business value instead of uptime and SLA’s.

how do we manage to modernize your IT?

Our approach consists of 4 easy steps – which will be customized based on the need within your organization:

inception phase
In this phase, we will determine together what journey we are going to undertake. Requirements like: ‘what applications or functionalities should we move to the cloud?’ are being gathered.

  • Basic training – all involved parties get to know the destination with Google Cloud fundamentals training;
  • Inspiration workshop – get inspired by solutions and uses cases from others to get a better vision of all possibilities;
  • Determine roadmap – what will the overall roadmap and goal of your organization be by moving to Google Cloud Platform;
  • Determine workloads – what workloads will we focus on during the project.

basecamp phase
In this phase, we will specify the plan and estimate the entire journey. This way we can create a shared understanding of what lies ahead.

  • Discover workloads – what workloads need to be moved and what are their dependencies;
  • Current architecture – what does the current architecture look like for the workloads that need to be moved;
  • Identity strategy – determine how users will interact with Google Cloud Platform services. How decentralized do you want to be?
  • Migration blueprint – create an overarching workload migration blueprint that can be re-used in sprints;
  • Technical design – create a technical design of the cloud/hybrid solution.

sprint phase
The actual journey will now take place. In one or multiple sprints, we will modernize your IT!

  • Cloud setup – setup of Cloud Identity, user provisioning, IAM & RBAC;
  • Baseline infrastructure – Google Cloud Platform project setup. Networking and connectivity setup from on-premise to GCP;
  • Workload migrations – analyze all dependencies for each workload. Create a detailed destination architecture. Plan the migration runbook and execute the migration.

review phase
As with any other journey, towards the end of it, we want to look back on our journey together and inspire you for the next trip.

  • Review issues – what are the largest issues and analyze how they can be solved;
  • Strategy roadmap – what are the lessons learned and does the roadmap need to be updated?
  • Determine next steps – do we need to migrate any other workloads? if so, then repeat from Inception.

why choose Incentro?

We have a broad experience in moving the following components into the cloud:

Virtual Machines
Your current Virtual Machines can easily be moved to infrastructure in the cloud. If your current on-premise servers are end-of-Life or you need extra capacity, this move can help you out.

Databases
Current database servers that run on-premise need OS and hardware upgrades. We have a completely managed solution you can use, without disrupting your current stack.

Storage
Your production storage cluster or disaster backup storage can be moved to a reliant, scalable and managed storage cluster in the cloud.

Containers
We can make sure your containers can run in the cloud. Completely or in a hybrid fashion and part of your network.

Multi/Hybrid cloud
Don’t want to move all of your infrastructure to the cloud or do you want to use more than one cloud provider? No problem, multi-cloud or hybrid cloud solutions have proven to be very useful for our clients.
