CPSI - Changing Perceptions of Security and Interventions

Is there a link between the real, current safety on the streets and the citizen’s perception of security? And what impact do messages in newspapers, on the radio and on TV have on that feeling?

A European consortium lead by TNO did research on this in the Changing Perception of Security and Interventions (CPSI) project. The goal of the research was to increase the understanding of the determinants of perceived safety in relation to the actual safety. They also investigated what interventions are suitable for increasing the factual safety and the citizen’s perception of security.

Within the consortium, Incentro was responsible for the realization of the underlying Data Warehouse (Data Vault technology), the design and construction of the loading scripts (Data Migrator technology) and the design and construction of Business Intelligence environment with which these questions can be answered (WebFOCUS and Google Maps technology).
